Ricky
Romero works at an American Diner, but he aspires to being a rock star.
He is sitting in the diner playing his guitar and singing a song. Sally
arrives and interrupts him. She asks him if he has seen the next spoon.
He hasn't, but he asks her if she has time to sit and hear his song
that he is entering into the silver spoon award song contest. He shows
her a picture of the trophy. It is a statuette with the next silver
spoon attached to it. She agrees to listen to his song.
T-Bag
sees this and tells T-Shirt that they will just have to win the award
for themselves.
Ricky
plays a recording of the song to Sally and tells her that he is going
to take a tape to Saul Wright the record producer. The song goes:
Selling
Cakes and coffee ain't the scene for me;
There
is something else that I would rather be!
I'd
be a rockstar, baby!
And
I don't mean maybe.
I'll
get to the top.
I'll
sing 'till I drop!
I'll
be a rockstar baby!
Working
all day long in an apron and hat.
Said
it all along I can do better than that!
I'd
be a rockstar, baby!
And
I don't mean maybe.
I'll
get to the top.
I'll
sing 'till I drop!
I'll
be a rockstar baby!
AHHHHH,
OOOOOOOO!
Rock
on!
Rock
baby!
Rock
Baby, oh!
I'd
be a rockstar, baby!
I'd
be a rockstar, baby!
I'll
get to the top.
I'll
sing 'till I drop!
I'll
be a rockstar baby!
OOOOOOO!
Sally
is bowled over by the song and tells Ricky that it is a hit.
T-Bag
is unimpressed by the song, and tell T-Shirt that she is going to sing
her own song. She sets up a tape recorder to tape her song, but it is
so awful, that it breaks her teacups and blows up the tape recorder.
T-Bag then decides to cheat at the competition.
Sally
offers to take the tape to Saul Wright, but whilst she is in the loo,
T-Bag appears and gets herself signed up Ricky's agent. She takes the
tape saying that she is a personal friend of Sauls Wright's. Sally comes
back and Ricky tells her that he has an agent, and she thinks that it's
wonderful.
Saul
Wright is on the phone having a crisis because somebody has pulled out
of the show at the last minute. She presents T-Shirt as Thomas Shirt
Superstar and hands over the tape of "Rock Star Baby" to Saul
and makes him promise to listen to it. Back at the T-Room, T-Shirt is
filled in on the details of the plan. All he has to do is mime to the
tape on the show.
Saul
is listening to the tape and is impressed. He gets on the phone to try
to get T-Shirt and let him know that he'll be on the show.
Ricky
is waiting for the phone to ring, but it doesn't.
Saul
is going out of his mind because he can't reach T-Shirt on the phone.
T-Shirt appears and Saul tells him that he needs to work on his image.
He gels his hair, puts him in a leather jacket and calls him "Rip
Shirt".
T-Bag
decides to keep Ricky out of the way by ringing him up and telling him
that Saul thought that the song was a monotonous dirge. Ricky is a bit
shell shocked by this and cries out, "So much for the great Tallulah
Bag". When Sally hears this, she works out exactly what is going
on and they rush to the award studio.
At
the studio, the show is underway. T-Shirt is the first on. Whilst he
is on stage, Sally and Rick come in. Sally slows the tape right down
and then speeds it right up, and T-Shirt is desparately trying to keep
up. She then switches it off completely and T-Shirt sidles off stage.
Ricky rushes on and sings the song for real. After he wins the award,
he gives the spoon to Sally.
