 This costume featured in episode 4 of "Pearls of Wisdom". It is made entirely from plain and printed cottons, with the jacket and the trousers being heavier weight fabrics (cotton drill). In the notes on the sketch, you can see that Raymond has written "boys' way". This shows how much attention to detail was paid - since the characters were on a Royal Navy ship at the time, any uniforms that were issued were likely to be for boys because they did not have ladies in the navy. |
