Georgina Hale has kindly sent me this prop, for which I cannot
thank her enough.
Tabatha
Bag's purse was used twice (not once, as I formerly thought).
It featured very briefly in "Pearls of Wisdom" for the
infamous Snakes and Ladders game in Rick O'Shea's bar (episode
9) and also in "Rings of Olympus" in Episode 2 ("Bandits"),
in the scene where T-Bag is having her hair done at the barber's
shop. She magics up the purse to pay him, piles his hand high
with money, and then takes nearly all of it back again.
The
purse is really a small handbag of about 6"x5" in size
with a gold coloured clasp. At first glance, it looks like it
is custom made from the same fabric as the Pearl dress. Closer
inspection reveals that it was originally a white purse with silver
lurex threads running through the material that has been painted
to match. The
painted purse has been covered with the same black tulle with
metallic embroidery as was used with the dress.
The
fact that it has been painted is best illustrated when you look
at the sides of the gold clasp, since the paint job has been a
little clumsy here, and there is paint on the clasp.

You
can also plainly see where they have not managed to paint out
the original white colour of the fabric.
