Tabatha Bag's "Sunstones" Earrings

Georgina Hale has kindly sent me these. Again, I am eternally indebted to her.

These earrings featured as part of the key "Sunstones" T-Bag costume.

The earrings are roughly 3" long, and made from plastic and glass beads. The main part of the earrings is fringed with black beads, and these form short loops at the bottom of the earring. There are then two long loops of beads dangling down along with one long string that does not loop back. In the centre of the earring is a 20mm teardrop shaped faceted acrylic embroidery stone.

When you turn the earrings over, you get some clue as to their contruction. It seems that they are made from black, fabric coated buttons, where the fabric has been used to anchor the stitching of the beads. The reverse of the button has had the shank hammered flat, and a silver clasp has been hot-glued in place.

Whether the earrings were custom made or not is unclear, but they are extremely well made, and they do not feel fragile at all. The stitching is completely invesible.
